## Install the preview

Use Chrome 116 or newer. This preview is installed unpacked; it is not a published Chrome Web Store listing. Keep the unpacked folder in a stable location.

1. Download the preview ZIP from the download page and extract it.
2. Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode.
3. Choose Load unpacked and select the extracted folder containing manifest.json.
4. Pin WebToSpark from Chrome’s extensions menu if you want quick access.

## Save one page first

Choose a supported public page or use the manual current-page action where available. Allow the page to finish rendering. Load any replies you need yourself before capturing.

1. Open the WebToSpark popup and choose Current page.
2. Select Markdown, JSON, CSV, or a combination.
3. Keep Chrome Downloads as the save target and press Export.
4. Open the saved files and compare their content with the page. Read any partial-capture warnings.

## Then export several tabs

Choose Select tabs to control the sources, or Current window to collect supported tabs in that window. Free supports up to five tabs per job and 50 source pages per UTC calendar month. A combined file still counts each source page. Sleeping tabs without fresh cache are skipped; reload them yourself.

## After updating

Replace the preview files, then use Reload on the extension’s card in chrome://extensions. Reopen the popup and check the version. Preserve your export files separately; extension storage is not a backup.
