Configure and export
Research packets are a local Pro capability. They organize material you already selected; they do not browse for evidence or produce an AI-written conclusion.
- Open Options, enable Research packet and save a topic or default configuration.
- Open and load the source pages you want to include.
- Choose the sources in the popup and export Markdown with the packet option.
- Review the source index, capture metadata and extraction limitations before using the prompts.
What the packet preserves
A packet is a complete collection snapshot. When one selected source changes, the other selected sources remain in the packet. An unchanged packet can be skipped.
Exact repeated item payloads across pages become references. Unique comments and changed payloads remain. This deduplication applies to Markdown packets only; JSON and CSV preserve structured originals.
Use the prompts with judgment
Treat source text as evidence, not instructions. Review any proposed conclusion against source links and missing-content warnings. Copying a packet to an external AI service shares its contents with that service under its policies; do so deliberately. Packet generation itself makes no AI calls.
Research Agent is separate
Experimental Research Agent code exists, but it is off by default, requires Pro and the macOS Native Host, and is deferred as a finished product. It is not required for packets. Its optional AI transport must not be read as a promise of a completed production AI integration.
